Özet: Elements sensitive to redox; Molybdenum (Mo), Nickel (Ni), Uranium (U), Vanadium (V), Copper (Cu), Cobalt (Co) and Zinc (Zn). Correlation rela-tionships between these elements with detritic ele-ments (Al, Ti, K, Sc, Fe, Si) and organic matter (% TOC) indicate that the redox conditions are anoxic. High and very high correlations of % TOC with Mo (r.=.0.933 pearson correlation coefficient) and Ni (r.=.0.703, pearson correlation coefficient) indicate that organic matter plays a crucial role in the transport of Mo and Ni into the sediment. Moderate correlation relationships of % TOC with Uranium (U) (r.=.0.484, pearson correlation coefficient) and Cobalt (Co) (r.=.0.409 pearson correlation coeffi-cient) indicate that these elements are absorbed or adsorbed into organic matter to transport into the sediment. Although iron (Fe) is not a redox-sensitive element, the moderate correlation rela-tionships between % TOC and Fe (r.=.0.441, pear-son correlation coefficient) indicates that these ele-ment are absorbed or adsorbed into organic matter to transport into the sediment. Although Vanadium (V) and Zinc (Zn) elements are generally reliable redox indicator elements, they are determined to be of detritic origin in Bozcahöyük area. Very weak and weak correlation relationships between organ-ic matter (% TOC) and vanadium (r.=.–.0,116, pear-son correlation coefficient), zinc (r.=.–.0,201, pear-son correlation coefficient) and copper (r.=.0.335, pearson correlation coefficient) indicate that organ-ic matter has no role in transporting these elements into sediment. V and Zn elements were found to be detritic origin in bituminous rocks of Bozcahöyük area. Therefore, they cannot be a reliable redox in-dicator element for this study.
