Özet: The aim of this study is to reveal the traditional weather forecasting methods of the local people living in Yeniköy and Çamarası neighborhoods in the rural part of Bodrum (Muğla). The research was designed according to the phenomenological design. In the study, semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used. Content analysis was used for data analysis. This work; It was realized in the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. A total of 35 people, 21 male and 14 female, participated in the study. According to the findings of the research; It was determined that the participants used ants, laying direction of cattle, various behaviors of animals, worms, snails and frogs, chickens and roosters, birds, scorpions and snakes, insects and bees. It was determined that the participants said that snakes, scorpions, ants, birds, snails, mosquitoes, butterflies and bees emerged as a result of daily and seasonal weather events. It was found that the participants used the forecasting of the migration, arrival, singing and flight patterns of birds. It was determined that the participants used plants' appearance, flowers, fruit and seeds, mulberry trees and mushrooms for weather forecasting. It was determined that the participants used moon, star and sun for forecasting. It was determined that the participants used the winds blowing from the south, north and local winds for forecasting.
