Özet: In this study of the 2018-2019 academic year in December, Ankara (Turkey) is made. The research data were obtained from 15, seventh grade students in different schools through a semi-structured interview form. The research was carried out after the completion of the gains related to the Ottoman Empire which was included in the seventh grade curriculum of the Social Studies course. The aim of the study is to reveal the perception of the Ottoman State of seventh grade students. Phenomenology was used in the study. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis approach was adopted. Findings of the research; It was found that the Ottoman State evokes the phenomena of “sultan, Anatolia, war, reform, social studies alarında in the participants' mind schemes. It is revealed that the most well-known sultan of the Ottoman Empire was Osman Gazi. It was seen that the number of students visiting the historical places related to the Ottoman Empire was low. In addition, it was revealed that the participants wanted to visit historical places about the Ottoman Empire. It was determined that the event that attracted the most attention of the participants in the Ottoman Empire was the “conquest of Istanbul“. It was observed that the majority of the participants read books and watched films about the Ottoman Empire. The participants emphasized that the etkileyen military power Osmanlı of the Ottoman Empire was the most influential aspect of the other states. They think that the influence of the Ottoman Empire is the ‘industrialization of the other states. Students will be able to read books, flags, paintings, etc. about the Ottoman Empire in their environment is revealed that there are few objects. From the concrete cultural heritage of the Ottoman Empire, the most well-known work was identified as the ‘Topkapı Palace’. Regarding the abstract cultural heritage, they believe that the values ​​of  tolerance, justice, helpfulness, hospitality are inherited. Suggestions in line with the findings of this study: Historical trips can be added to the annual social studies plans. Online field trips can be made in line with the annual plan. Activity book with posters, puzzles and information of historical places in the social studies curriculum can be prepared. National education supported historical series, movies, animation, documentaries can be prepared. Reading books compatible with the social studies curriculum can be prepared and sent to school libraries.
