Özet: This research aims determine how prospective teachers from different departments perceive academic studies. This research was prepared properly to Quolitative Research Method under the light of Phenomenological approach. The participant group of the study comprises fifty nine prospective teachers who study in a public university's Faculty of Education in 2019-2020 term and who study in different grades and different departments such as Social Sciences Teaching, Early Childhood Education, Classroom Teaching, Science Teaching, Turkish Teaching and Psychological Counseling and Guidance. A semi-structured interview form which consists of six open ended questions were implemented to the prospective teachers. The specifications were analyzed according to content analysis which consists of qualitative analyses and comments of the prospective teachers were collected under various themes. In the research, it has been seen that the prospective teachers have knowledge about academic study and they have awareness about importance of academic participation for making progress in the research. Although preservice teachers were aware of the importance of academic studies, they stated that they did not always give sincere answers to the forms applied to them. Also, it has been extrapolated that the participants express opinions about academic studies and they indicate that to be productive in the academic studies, the searchers should ask short and clear questions, utilize technology, analyze the past studies, make a good planning for research, make interview instead of questionnaire and choose the participant group carefully.
