Özet: The study aimed to find out feeding behavior of Nezara viridula (L.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) on bean. For this purpose, an individual of the pest put in the observation cage which is placed on a bean plant in the manner involving a pod was observed for a one-hour. Throughout the one-hour observation period, the durations of staying anywhere out of the pod, staying on the pod without feeding and total feeding were determined separately in seconds (sec) by means of a stopwatch. The total feeding duration was investigated in three periods as the pahases of initial, probing and active feeding. The experiments conducted in a controlled climate room conditions at temperature 25±1ºC, relative humidity 45% ± 5% and photoperiod 16:8 h. According to results of the study, the total feeding period completed for the longest time by the fifth-stage nymphs with 2,845.70 sec. The third- and fourth-stage nymphs completed the period in the shortest time with 1,611.40 sec and 1,561.20 sec, respectively. As compared with the third- and fourth-stage nymphs; male adults, preoviposition females, the second-stage nymphs and ovipsition females completed the period in the longest time with 2,564.40 sec, 2,470.00 sec, 2,401.40 sec and 2,253.10 sec, respectively.
