Özet: Colored sticky traps are widely used to monitor and to mass trap populations of insect species in agricultural areas. Attractiveness of colored traps to insect species may be differ. Attractions of various sticky traps to Thrips major Uzel (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), of which biology and ecology is rudimentary, in nectarines was studied in Adana province in 2011 and 2012. White, yellow, blue and green colored stick traps were hung up the outer canopies of the trees in each cardinal direction. Addition to trap samplings, inflorescences of trees was also sampled. T. major was the most predominant species within seven thrips species identified on the traps. White colored traps comprised of 59.64% and 68.41% of total adult thrips species in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Significantly high numbers of adults were caught by the white traps on the most sampling dates (P<0.05). The relationship between numbers obtained from only white colored traps and inflorescences of trees was significant only for white traps in both years (2011: R2= 0.54; 2012: R2= 0.85; P<0.05). Effect of cardinal direction was found to be significant only for white traps. White traps placed at outer branches positioned to south directions were caught significantly more thrips in March but significant numbers of individuals were detected on white traps faced to east direction in April. It is commented that captures of significant numbers of individuals on white traps placed at south or east direction of trees were related to the nearby host plants of the thrips
