Özet: During the Lausanne Peace Conference held in 1922-1923, a consensus was reached between Turkey and Greece in terms of the exchange of Turkish and Greek minority populations in both countries. The Turkish-Greek population exchange carried out within the scope of this reconciliation in about ten years had very important consequences for both countries. The exchange, which emerged as a result of the idea of establishing a nation under the conditions of the era it was carried out, has been the subject of many academic studies until today. This study will examine the reasons, scope and results of the Turkish-Greek population exchange in the light of a comparative literature.
