Özet: The second half of the 20-th century has become more important for the economic growth of countries. After this emphasis on economic growth, the factors that determine economic growth began to be questioned. In empirical studies it was concluded that physical capital, which ist he factor that determine economic growth insufficient to explain economic growth. As a result of technological developments gain momentum accepted growth models are forced to explain the source of growth and the necessity to develop a new growth pattern has emerged. It has increased the importance of human capital by development of a new growth model. The aim of this study is to specify the role of human capital in economic growth and to examine the relationship between human capital and economic growth for Azerbaijan. For this purpose, the period of 1991-2015 the relationship between economic growth and human capital was investigated in Azerbaijan. As a result of evidences from descriptive reduced, a positive relationship between human capital and economic growth has been observed. İn the coming years linearly Azerbaijan's economic growth will gain directional upward momentum with the enrichment of human capital
