Özet: In order to survive, every enterprises must adopt the most appropriate one or ones of modern management techniques for its own structure. Thus, competition with competitors, cost minimization, profit maximization, sustainable growth, efficiency, effectiveness and organizational success will be ensured. What this study aims to do is to determine the level of use of modern management techniques by the enterprises operating in the Van Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ). For this purpose, firstly, the literature on modern management techniques was reviewed. Eleven agreed-upon modern management techniques were identified. Out of 117 enterprises operating in Van OIZ, 100 of them accepted to fill the questionnaire form. According to the obtained results, enterprises use the seven modern management techniques of Learning Organizations, Outsourcing, Benchmarking, Staff Empowerment, Green Management, Business Process Engineering and Total Quality Management at rates above 70%. The degree of utilization of Crisis Management and Strategic Partnership techniques, which are among the modern management techniques, was realized at a medium level between 36% and 70%. The utilization rate of Lean Management and Organizational Downsizing practices of the enterprises is 35% and below at a low level. Meanwhile, the potential organizational benefits are not yet fully achieved due to the need for qualified personnel for the adaptation of modern management techniques to enterprises, the additional costs caused by the adaptation and the reasons that they are not suitable for business processes
