Özet: The general aim of the research is to examine the effects of materials prepared within the framework of Elaboration Theory on achievement of students in English language learning. 3x3 (2 factors) Split-plot mixed design was employed within the research. The study group of the achievement test developed within the scope of the research consists of totally 443 undergraduate students enrolled in formal education in three different state universities (n=188, n=176 and n=79). The study group of the experimental process within the scope of the research consists of totally 112 undergraduate students enrolled in formal education in a state university. "Achievement Test on English Prepositions" developed within the scope of the research was utilized as data collection instrument as pre-test, post-test and retention test. Within the scope of the research, "Printed Material" and "Multimedia Material" were developed related to the use of prepositions in English language and they were utilized in the application of experimental processes. Printed materials were utilized by Experimental Group 1, multimedia materials were utilized by Experimental Group 2 and existing materials were utilized by Control Group within learning settings and this process lasted approximately 4 weeks. One-way ANOVA and One Factor ANCOVA were utilized in the analyses of the data.
