Özet: This article consists of the applications and implications of the course, Teaching Practicum, carried out in Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) Departments in Turkey. Teaching Practicum is regulated under the control of Higher Education Council (YOK) and carried out with the shared responsibilities of Education Faculties and K12 schools of National Ministry of Education. The course is given in the final year of the education faculties and consists of minimum sixty hours practice in elementary schools. Teaching Practicum course covers the practice of teaching of teacher candidates on their field therefore, represents problems and implications regarding the field. The planning, execution and evaluation of this application process as appropriate to the requirements of the field in which teacher candidates are trained will help teacher candidates become teachers proficient in their fields. The elementary school course of information technologies differs from the fields of other disciplines in terms of the theoretical information it provides and the practical activities in laboratory environment. This study thus, tries to point out the uniqueness of the CEIT departments in the Teaching Practicum course by presenting the current situation and the literature.
