Özet: The purpose of this study, using content analysis technique, was to examine the match between the questions of Educational Sciences Tests of the Public Personnel Selection Examinations (PPSE) and Instructional Technology-related sub-competencies/performance indicators of the 'Generic Teacher Competencies'. The Ministry of National Education published the catalogue of Generic Teacher Competencies in 2006. These core competencies represent comprehensive statements of performance expectations including 31 sub-competencies and 233 performance indicators across six domains. Twenty sub-competencies and 83 performance indicators were evaluated as Instructional Technology-related. Then, the questions of Educational Sciences Tests which were administered in the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 were content analyzed. According to the results, 25 questions (%20.8) in 2007 test; 15 questions (%12.5) in 2008 test; 17 questions (%14.2) in 2009 test; and 19 questions (%15.8) in 2010 test were found as related to Instructional Technology-related sub-competencies/performance indicators of the Generic Teacher Competencies. It can be concluded that the analyzed Educational Sciences Tests of the PPSE do not include an adequate amount of questions which are related to Instructional Technology-related sub-competencies/performance indicators of the Generic Teacher Competencies. Besides, the qualitative insufficiency of some questions is also observed in the content analysis phase of the study. Implications are discussed.
