Özet: Ductility of a material is calculated by measuring total elongation or reduction of area. Based on experimental observations, there is no problem to determine the total elongation. However, it is quite difficult to measure a fractured area accurately when fracture surface has an irregular shape. Results show differences depend on experimenters and location of the measurement is made. In this study, conventional and image processing methods are compared using tensile test data. Image processing is made using MATLAB software. The image of the fracture surface is processed. Then the ductility is determined and results are compared. As a result, the average difference between two measurement methods is calculated about 29.74.
