Özet: In this study, the nucleate boiling heat transfer characteristics of n-pentane and CuO-pentane nanofluids are experimentally investigated on a smooth and a micro-structured circular brass surface of 38 mm diameter. The experiments are carried out at saturated conditions and under atmospheric pressure. In this experimental study, an enhanced surface is prepared by using wire erosion technique and the obtained heat transfer coefficients from this surface are compared with those of the smooth surface. The experimental results showed that the presence of nanoparticles in the base fluid influences the heat transfer coefficient and the enhancement due to its presence is seen to be higher for higher mass fraction nanofluid.
