Özet: Byzantine Empire/Eastern Roman Empire shows a last revival between the years 1204-1453 in terms of art. This period is named Palailologan Renaissance by art historians. In this study primarily the ornament materials and features of Late Byzantine Buildings in Byzantium’s capital Istanbul/Constantinople (which are rapidly disappearing) will be discussed. The buildings in Istanbul which belong to Late Byzantine Art are more spectacular than the buildings in the other cities of the empire because they were built in the capital and they are prestigious buildings. As a consequence of the reviews, it was understood that especially the facade ornamentation was remarkable in this period. In the conclusion section a chart was formed by determining the facade ornaments of Late Byzantine Buildings. As a result of this chart, the most commonly used motifs on the facades have been obtained. And also the building which has the most ornamentation features was determined.
