Özet:    The determination of the physico-mechanical properties of rocks is a very important issue in a lot of engineering applications. Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) is one of the most important properties of rocks. The method to determine it is relatively simple, but it is time consuming, expensive and requires a well-prepared rock sample. For this reason, other physico-mechanical properties are frequently used to predict the UCS. Specimens used in this kind of work are either dry or have uncontrolled water content. This study aims to develop models for estimating the UCS at any water content, and some laboratory tests were carried out on different types of sedimentary rocks. For this purpose the UCS, point load strength, Schmidt and Shore rebound hardness, ultrasonic wave velocity and Brazilian tensile strength were determined for specimens at oven dried and 35, 70 and 100% saturated specimens. Simple and multiple regression analyses were carried out. The results showed that the predictive performance of models is good, especially at 70 and 100% degree saturation, and they are very practical tools to estimate the UCS at any water content using other mechanical properties.
