Özet: The crushability properties of rocks are very important parameters in industrial scale and they can be determined by different methods. The mineral properties in the rock have effects on rock crushability and in this study; the relationship between mineral properties and rock crushability was investigated. According to this, the crushability properties of five different rock samples were determined by calculating the amount of material passing a given mesh opening, after the rock samples of a certain size were broken by using a jaw crusher. When the mineral properties were determined, the texture coefficient approach was used and the shape characteristics of the minerals were also taken into consideration. The obtained data from laboratory tests and image analysis of rocks were evaluated statistically and strong correlations between the crushability index (CI) of the rocks, particle size (d50, d80) and the values of the texture coefficients (TC) were found. In addition, Schmidt hardness (SH) tests were performed for determining the hardness values of the rocks and correlated with the texture coefficients and obtained a good relationship.
