Özet: Pumice is an important industrial raw-material and our country has rich deposits. Its applications are generally on the production of cement binding constructive element for the purpose of lightweight construction material. Pumice based bims blocks cannot be manufactured 100% filled with pumice in our country because it does not have sufficient fine materials. Therefore, in this study the effect of ignimbrite addition on the physical and mechanical properties of the pumice based bims blocks as a construction material was investigated. Pumice and ignimbrite from Nevşehir region was used and the study was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the pumice was ground to form fine materials and 100% pumice filled samples were manufactured. In the second stage, the ignimbrite was used as the fine material. Even though the ignimbrite used products has a high axial compressive stress, their unit volume weights increased 26% more than that of the samples with 100% pumice.
