Özet: Meteorological drought caused to lack of water has adverse effects on all life firstly hydrological, after then agricultural and socioeconomically. In this study, the relationship between meteorological and hydrological drought in Atikhisar Dam Lake, which is in Çanakkale Central District borders and being crucial for the region in terms of drinking, irrigation and flood, was investigated between 2013 and 2017. Standard precipitatipn index (SPI) for meteorological drought, Meyer open water surface evaporation (E) method for hydrological drought, modified normalized difference water index (MNDWI) generated from Landsat 8 OLI (Operational Land Imager) multispectral satellite image for area change and for volume change calculated evaporation and area data were used. For the rainy and the dry season, the meteorological and hydrological effects on the lake area-volume were evaluated in 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months periods. As a result, it was determined that SPI and E for 3 months periods have significant effects on the seasonal area and volume changes during the rainy and dry season transition, and since it is more stable compare to others, better results are obtained in the analyzes including summer season.
