Özet: In this study, the effect of grinding aid on dry calcite grinding using vertically and horizontally orientable stirred ball mill was investigated. The results obtained from the vertical and horizontal orientation of the mill were evaluated based upon the particle size (d50 and d90). For vertical orientation, experimental results indicated that the d50 and d90 sizes can be improved by 40% and 60%, respectively by using grinding aid at 2000 g/t when compared to no aid condition. For horizontal orientation, it was understood that improvement in d50 size by 45% size and improvement in d90 size by 62% could be obtained. In addition, agglomeration phenomena were determined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of products obtained from the presence (2000 g/t) and absence (0 g/t) of grinding aid.
