Özet: The construction sector is one sector that should be given special attention, because of the contribution to the economic development of a country. The number of occupational accidents in the construction sector in our country is high. For this reason, the conditions and obstacles affecting occupational safety in the sector should be observed and investigated and also, solutions should be produced. In addition, employers and employees in the sector should take care to act in accordance with existing laws and regulations. The construction sector is an area of activity that needs to be investigated because of its significant share in total work accidents and because of its share in fatal work accidents. In this study, the status of work-related accidents in the construction sector in Turkey has been investigated since enforced the Law No. 6331 Occupational Health and Safety in 2012. Within the work accidents in all sectors, the share of the construction sector and the situation in the sub-sectors of the construction sector have been analyzed in detail. Accident probability rate, which is an important indicator in the work accident analysis, was determined and reviewed together with the sub-sectors. In addition, the impact of workplace size on accident risk was assessed. As a result, it was identified that the incidence rate of the construction sector was high and recommendations have been made according to the results obtained.
