Özet: Hiring the right person for the right position in business organizations is vitally important process requiring extensive use of time, money and energy. Additionally, this process contains various subjective qualitative and quantitative criteria. Thus, it is a challenging multi-criteria decision making problem. In this study, fuzzy MULTIMOORA, as one of the prominent multi criteria decision making methods, is applied due to the ambiguity and subjectivity, which the personnel selection process inherently possesses. By using the competencies determined by a prominent aviation firm in Turkey, a fuzzy decision support system for hiring process in various departments at the firm is implemented. In the first phase, the three applicants who have passed the written exam are assessed by three recruiters of the company. Hence, the best candidate is identified with fuzzy MULTIMOORA method. For the sake of testing the reliability and the user-friendliness of the applied method, the same problem is handled with an alternative multi-criteria decision making approach hybridizing two very common methods, AHP and TOPSIS, which delivered the same ranking of candidates.
