Özet: In this study, some electro-static problems of rectangular thick plate containing a prismatic inclusion made of piezoelectric (PZT) material are solved numerically in the framework of the three dimensional linearized exact equations of electro-elasticity theory using piecewise-homogeneous body model by using three dimensional finite element method. All algorithms and programs required for the numerical solution are made by the authors. It is assumed that the plate is simply supported from all lateral surfaces and also, electric potential is zero and, ideal contact conditions are provided at the interface surfaces between the PZT inclusion and the matrix material. The effect of materials and geometric parameters as well as the couple interaction between the electrical and mechanical fields of the PZT rectangular thick plate under the uniaxial tensile force in the given boundary conditions is investigated and discussed.
