Özet: Historical masonry arch bridges are one of most important structures which transfer to cultural heritage of ancient civilizations to the present. These bridges have been one of the most important elements of transportation, trade and architecture in the past. However, nowadays, with the development of new construction materials and methods, masonry arch bridges are no longer constructed. These structures can be damaged by external factors such as earthquakes, floods, fires and wars. There are various studies that are carried out in order to determine the earthquake behaviour of the historical masonry arch bridges. The main objective of this study is to investigate the behaviour of the single span masonry arch bridge under earthquake effects by performing linear dynamic analyses. For this purpose, a single-span masonry arch bridge is considered as a numerical example. Three dimensional finite element model of the bridge has been created by using ANSYS finite element software into account with the macro modelling approach. Because of the location of the bridge, the acceleration records of the 2011 Simav and 2002 Sultandağı earthquakes were used as a seismic effect in the linear dynamic analyses. The displacements and maximum-minimum principal stresses of the bridge were obtained from the analyses and the seismic responses of the bridge were evaluated.
