Özet: In today’s educational institutions, the debates on the subject of which approach should be adopted in human rights education have made two approaches become prominent. These are, briefly, a) human rights should be taught through an independent lesson in the school curriculum and b) human rights should be taught in all lessons in the school curriculum. In the literature, the former one, which aims at conveying all knowledge on human rights directly through an independent lesson, is called discipline based approach while the latter one, which is based on the assumption that human rights education should take place in the scope of all other lessons and thus aiming at teaching human rights through all lessons, is called interdisciplinary approach. In this article, the approaches to human rights education in the related classes of primary schools applied within the system of National Education will be examined and the notion on which approach should be applied on this issue will be discussed
