Özet: One purpose of this research is to find out what trend Turkish textile and apparel sector’s effectiveness has presented in the periods, in which important global events relevant to the sector and economic crises were seen. The other purpose of the research is to find out how the sector’s effectiveness has fluctuated in the periods of domestic and foreign economic crises. When the businesses that account for İstanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) textile index (XTEKS) are taken into hand, it is expected that the index’s businesses’ effectiveness present a downfall trend and there are serious fluctuations of the effectiveness levels in the years that economic crises happened
