Özet: Throughout the history, reaching and controlling energy and water resources have always been a leading parameter of wars and conflict. Mediterranean will continue to be a battlefield due to being located right in the heart of the energy demand and supply in the surrounding geography. Kirkuk-Yumurtalık Oil Pipeline together with Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline and with other natural gas and oil pipelines and water resources, the vitality of the Mediterranean can be grasped once more with regard to the problem of sharing the world’s energy and natural resources. Agreement signed between Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus and Israel in 2011 on search for natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean reveals the vitality of Mediterranean in terms of energy once again. In this article, the impacts of developments in the Eastern Mediterranean on energy sharing on the chess played in the region including Cyprus and the pradigm shift will be discussed.
