Özet: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between defense expenditures and employment rate which is an important economic indicator. In this context, benefiting from the data of Turkey and the 28 member countries of the European Union (EU-28) for the 1993-2017 period, the structure of relationships between variables have examined using panel data regression analysis method. According to the results, the relationship between defense spending and employment rate is found to be statistically significant and defense spending variable has an adverse effect on employment variable.
