Özet: The purpose of this paper is to examine the conceptual and operational contributions of environmental movements and ethical approaches to the solutions developed in response to the environmental problems. The subject will be correlated with responsibilities of human beings in terms of environmentalism and ethical and the reflection of environmental values. In this context, the focus will be on the test of the place of environmental movements and ethical approaches in the struggle to protect environment. Mankind have been in an effort to meet the needs to obtain some level of quality in life, and to improve all the time. This effort in turn has led to a variety of environmental problems and the quest for solutions to the the growing problems revealed the environmentalists and environmentalism. Studies and ideas of environmentalists provided for the development of environmental movements and environmental ethics. In this study, the contributions of these movements and approaches aiming to create environmental awareness to the environmental problems. Live-centric and environment-centered approaches have been developed in response to the human-centered approach to the environmental challenges. Future centric approach considered to have possessed broader scope has been proposed in order to point to an ideal. It seems plausible to claim that the movements and approaches support environmentalism and environmental movement.
