Özet: Study in your hands examines the foundation of monasteries and churches in the mount of Athos which is an privileged region in Thessalaniki province and Tahrir books is the main source of it. The aim of this study is to highlight the eyes of religious tolerance in the Ottoman Empire. It is a known reality that ruled with justice to the places where Ottoman Empire conquered and respect to the minority law in İslam. We can see the application of it, conquered everywhere from nonmuslims including İstanbul, Jerusalem and Thessalaniki at the outset. The importance of this issue become more clearly when considering general silence of Tahrir books about the records of the monastery and church foundations. Ottomans were canverted into mosques the largest sanctuary in conquered places, in accordance with İslamic law. It’s also possible to see many examples of it in the Thessaloniki. However, Athos kept its sanctity under the shade not only of mont but also Ottoman protectorate
