Özet: The purpose of this study is to measure efficiency of first 500 firms registered for Istanbul Industry Chamber. The measurement of efficiency is aimed for stochastic frontier analysis, a parametric method, introduced by Aigner, Lovell and Schmidt 1977 and Meusen and Van Den Broeck 1977 . In the study, two different models were constructed according to the corresponding year of Cobb-Douglas C-D for the data set from ISO 500 firms of the years 20112014. Firm based efficiency measurement was carried out by cross sectional data. Also it was exhausted by branching off sectors according to NACE REV 2 economic operation classification and mean efficiency scores too. In SFA the data values should always be positive. Two different transformation have been carried out to make negative values positive. Although first transformation gives meaningful results statistically, since it isn’t proper financially second transformation was done. According to analysis results, efficiencies in public sphere is worse that of private sector. Until 2014 clothing, in 2014 nutrition sectors efficiency sectors’ is higher than other sectors. Efficiency scores of firms plummeted from 2011 to 2013 whereas in 2014 it went up
