Özet: The aim of this study is to propose solutions within context of militant democracy understanding and democratization towards political parties closed by the Constitutional Court since 1982. In this context in the study closure of political parties are evaluated in Turkey in terms of democratization investigating the political party and democracy concepts, militant democracy understanding and development, legal regulations of Turkey political parties and the political parties closed by Constitutional Court since 1982. As a result of examined closure decisions it has been observed that Constitutional Court reflects state-oriented ideology in a rigid way, due to acts which necessitate comment there is mentality of judges and jurisprudence problems, there is applied restricted sanctions in political party trials and closure decisions can’t create permanent effect on a societal basis. Turkey’s one of the major obstacles in the path of future democracy, closure of political parties, can just be tackled with preparation of a new political parties act attended by all stakeholders, relying on political parties and applying to closure as a last resort
