Özet: The intellectual roots of sharing plans date back to the 19 th century. Although sharing plans involve many practices, it’s classified two basic categories as gainsharing and profit-sharing. The main purpose of the various types of sharing plans is to set up a clear relationship between performance, success, and financial reward for the employee participation and provide the cooperation between employees and their companies. The aim of this study is to define gainsharing and profit-sharing plans within encouraging and performance based wage systems and classify the advantages and disadvantages of the sharing plans. Then, analyze the legal status, practicability, and the reasons of low prevalence of the plans. The reasons of low prevalence for the process of sharing plans are; the early development of service sector without an industrial development, the conflicting relations between workers and employers which aroused by capitalist force and the deficiency of industrial democracy implementations.
