Özet: The purpose of this study was to determine the level of internet addiction and determine whether there is any difference in addiction levels according to the socio-demographic characteristics of students in health management department. The population of this study consisted the students of Ankara University Health Management Department. In this study, sampling wasn’t selected, trying to reach the entire population. A sample of 265 students participated in this study. The research data were collected through "Internet Addiction Scale", developed by Hahn and Jerusalem 2001 and Şahin and Korkmaz 2011 conducted a validity/reliability analysis by adapting to Turkish and a questionnaire form involving the participants’ socio-demographic characteristics. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was found that the average internet addiction scores of the students were low 42,15- 17% . Also based on the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants, it was determined that gender, graduated high school type, place of residence of the family, duration of daily internet use and alcohol use variables have a meaningful difference in terms of internet addiction and subscale scores. However, it was determined that age, class, relations with friends, frequency of book reading, cigarette use and the attitude of the family didn’t make a meaningful difference in terms of average of points of internet addiction and sub-dimensions.
