Özet: With the end of the cold war, geopolitical, geostrategic and geoeconomic centre of gravity of the world has moved from Atlantic to Pacific and the global geopolitical power struggles have mainly started in Afro-Eurasia. This area has become the centre of attraction for both the global and regional actors that would like to have a say in world politics because of its potential to determine the future global leader. Turkey which represents itself as a centre in the Afro-Eurasia geography in its new foreign policy leads these regional actors referring to its historical and cultural connections with the region. Shifting of geopolitical perceptions in Turkish foreign policy towards Africa is the result of the global geo-political changes and diversifications in the foreign policy perceptions of Turkey. This research will analyse Turkey-African relations, which have been developing since 2005 on the basis of an institutional identity, as the meeting point of the theory and practice of new Turkish foreign policy.
