Özet: Population size and its growth rate have been discussed continuously in the historical process. T. Malthus claimed that population has increased as a geometric series and food supply as an arithmetic series in every 25 years and this situation would cause a misery for humanity. D. Ricardo expressed that when population has increased, the number of workers would increase and paying wage for per worker from wage fund would decrease, and wages would decline to the minimum level at which the labor could renew itself. K. Marx indicated that the goods have been made valuable by the labor used in the production of them and the capitalist has exploited the labor by paying lower wage than the sale price of goods. R. Solow deduced that development depends on capital stock for per worker, population growth has reduced capital stock for per worker by increasing the number of workers and this situation has negatively affected the development.
