Özet: The methodology of economics is a field of study which questions the birth of the economics and its scientific, the main concepts and the indispensable principles that constitute it. An economist should act in an accurate and consistent manner from an objective point of view when explaining the economic reality that is or is expected to occur. At the same time an economist must use the methodology to establish a theory, approach or model. In this sense, the problem of methodology in economics has always been one of the most important topics of discussion. The way in which the methods or methods are used to explain an economic event is expressed in many ways by many economists. Carl Menger, one of the representatives of the Austrian School, suggests that analyzes should be made by using a deductive method in economic studies. Carl Menger, who uses abstract-deductive methods, evaluates economic events with an anti-historicalist approach. Gustav Schmoller is another economist involved in methodology in economics. Gustav Schmoller, one of the most important names of the German Historian School, defends the realist-inductive approach by using an inductive method in economic science. It gives importance to the examination of economic facts in a historical process. The problem of method, which is the most important point of social sciences, constitutes a dual distinction in economic science. In this study, the issue of method leading to a hot discussion between Carl Menger and Gustav Schmoller will be discussed. For this purpose, a model or an approach in economic theory will be studied and what method should be used
