Özet: The study was conducted between 2009 and 2010 in pomegranate orchards in Aydın province in Turkey. The aim of the study was to determine insect pest and natural enemy species in pomegranate orchards, and was to investigate the population fluctuations, occurence and damage of the detrimental species in the orchards. For this purpose, surveys were conducted to determine the pest and beneficial species in 15 orchards. Pheromone traps were used to detect the population fluctuations of Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann, 1824) (Diptera: Tephritidae) and Ectomyelois ceratoniae (Zeller, 1839) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), in 2 orchards, and counted weekly. Besides, evaluating of the fruit damage was carried out in the two orchards. As a result of the study, C. capitata, E. ceratoniae, Docotettix cornutus Ribaut, 1948 and Fieberiella anategea Meyer-Arndt, 1991 (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) were determined as common pests in the orchards, and it was figured out that their populations reached to the peak in September on. Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday, 1835) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), Aphis punicae Passerini, 1863 and Aphis gossypii Glover, 1877 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) were occasional both in number and in abundance in the orchards.Of the pests, C. capitata and E. ceratoniae were accepted as main pests. F. anategea and D. cornutus could be evaluated as potential vector species.
