Özet: Mass media are the most indispensable components of the individual and community life in contemporary societies. The media, which initially emerged as a mass communication phenomenon, underwent rapid change and transformation over time. In the process of change of life, many advanced technology communication tools such as portable-video-wireless phones, internet and electronic mail, as well as conventional communication tools such as radio, television and telephone, have become a routine part of everyday life. Virtual-internet and social media tools that have been renewed with the passing of the day have come to such a dimension that they can entertain much more different and important functions besides amusing the masses and giving people pleasant and amusing moments in their free time. In this process, the media has reached a point where it can play an important role in influencing the attitudes and behaviours of the individuals in society, not only in affecting them but also in modifying them. This changing effect of the media is not limited to only individuals. It can also be observed in the general dimension of the society in terms of weight. The media has the power and ability to recreate, reshape, reproduce and interpret the social structure, the established order, and the social relations that occur between individuals. In this sense, the media are in the power of creating important perceptions and images, or in changing the false perceptions and opinions that exist. In the other words, the mass media can do so much in the formation of the perceptions and beliefs of individuals and the masses of the people, or for perception management. The Islamic opposition who focus on the anti-Islamic heritage inherited from their ancestors, beyond this the foci that hold the enmity of Islam in the depths of their hearts, were very quickly aware of this power of the media. Nowadays, these powers, which are almost antagonistic to Islam, they have tried to attack Islam and Muslims, who are the religion of peace, brotherhood and love in every occasion and every environment by using all means. Both traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television as well as digital-virtual-social media are the most powerful weapons force for these forces. From these determination, the study focused on the phenomenon of Islamophobia and the influence of the media on Islamophobia. Moreover, it was aimed to examine sociological aspects of the place and the position of the mass media in the change of this wrong perception and behavior.
