Özet: The purpose of this research was to study the relations between the irrational romantic relationship beliefs and happiness in a sample of 466 students in Akdeniz University (283 female, 183 male) in 2017-2018 Educational Fall Term. The Turkish version of the Irrational Romantic Relationships Beliefs Inventory (Sarı, 2008) and The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Short Form (Doğan ve Çötok, 2011) were used for data collection. The sub-dimensions of the Irrational Romantic Relationships Beliefs Inventory were, “Extreme expectations”, “Mind reading”, Thinking differently”, “Physical closeness” “ Gender differences” and “Using social time”. Multiple regression analyses revealed that “gender differences” and “thinking differently” dimensions of the irrational romantic relationship beliefs were the negative predictors of happiness.
