Özet: In the historical process, the fact that Turkish is a scientific language shows itself in the works that have been revealed periodically. In the Old Anatolian Turkish Period, besides literary works, many works from various branches of science were written. Among these works, books written on medicine and health have an important place. The work named Tervihü'l-Ervah, which we took as the basis for the examination, belongs to the author who uses the pen name "Ahmedi" in his writings and whose real name is "Tacüddin İbrahim bin Hızır". Tervihü'l-Ervah, a medical work written in the Mesnevi style, was written in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, considering the author's living environment and death date. Tervḭhü'l-Ervāh, besides being Ahmedî's greatest masnavi, has a special importance in terms of being the first verse medicine book written in Turkish literature. Ahmedî, who used the scientific language of the period in a literary genre, masnavi, with great skill, signed his name to the period in which he lived with his famous work of 10082 couplets. Since it is a medical text, many plant names are included in the work, along with the names of diseases, drugs and treatments. The use of Turkish plant names together with Arabic and Persian plant names can be evaluated in the effort of Ahmedi to translate the scientific language into Turkish. In the general content of the article, attention will be drawn to Turkish plant names and the language of science of the period will be shed light on.
