Özet: Iqta', which is a kind of land administration in the Islamic state tradition has been an important element in the establishment of the army-state order as a military iqta' regime in the medieval Turkish-Islamic states. The Seljuk vizier Nizâmülmülk transformed the administrative iqta' system into a military iqta' regime by reforming it in line with the interests of the state. The military iqta' regime, which was inherited from the Seljuks to the Ayyubids, was developed in accordance with the state structure during the Mamluk period. The full application of the Seljuk military iqta' order was carried out in Egypt during the Mamluk period. In our article, we will make evaluations and determinations about the operation and results of the Seljuk and Mamluk periods while talking about the different views of orientalists on the military iqta' regime applied in the medieval Turkish-Islamic states.
