Özet: Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum copy number 73 (TİEM 73) is known to be one of the first translations of the Qur'an into Turkish, is a copy that was copied at a later date. It is thought that the text belongs to the Karakhanid Turkish period. Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk stands out with its dialect knowledge records and it is one of the most important works of not only Karakhanid Turkish, but also all Turkish culture and language history. In this study, the vocabulary of the text of TİEM 73, whose original copy is thought to belong to Karakhanid Turkish, was evaluated according to the 11th century dialect knowledge data. In this study, first the vocabulary is revealed, showing dialect characteristics in TİEM 73 according to the data in Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk. Afterwards, the usage of the vocabulary showing dialect characteristics that do not belong to these dialects were determined and presented. 75 words were analyzed in total. According to the analysis, the vocabulary showing Oğuz Turkish features is at a much higher rate than other dialects. However, Oğuz Turkish stands out in terms that are mentioned in Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk, where it has dialect differences, but are used outside of the dialect-dependent feature in TİEM 73. It should be considered that, compared to the other dialects, the vocabulary of the Oğuzs is much frequent in Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk.
