Özet: From time to time, people may encounter some unusual events and situations that affect or upset their life. Some events such as unexpected and sudden natural disasters, earthquake, tsunami, death, accident can cause stress by causing trauma to individuals. On February 6, 2023 two earthquakes over 7 in Kahramanmaraş also shocked in Türkiye. People reacted differently to the effect of the earthquake shock they experienced. Some of them did not share their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors with anyone, while others felt the need to share them on social media. Individuals who shared some words with different and intense emotions than usual with the effect of the shock they experienced. Because people are social creatures, they need to express and share their emotions. These feelings and thoughts were mostly expressed in social media. In this study, the earthquake, which is one of the types of natural disasters, and how the stress created by this earthquake affect the issues that are on the agenda in social media are discussed through Twitter platforms. People have been sharing more on social media lately to overcome difficult and troublesome processes. These posts were sometimes positive and sometimes negative. However, most of these posts were made as a result of the pain, fear, anxiety, guilt, in short, traumatic stress of the individuals after the earthquake. Individuals showing some reactions in these posts during the mourning process and reflecting this may be perceived as psychological problems, but these are seen as normal reactions to abnormal situations. In this study, it has been investigated how individuals who post on social media perceive the earthquake when they are under the influence of the shock they are in, how they react, how they refer to religion in these reactionary comments and what meaning they attribute to the earthquake. The research started right after the earthquake and 160 posts and agenda items made in the first 20 days were noted, classified, and subjected to content analysis.
