Özet: The eleventh epic in the Book of Dede Korkut is Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy. There are many historical-epic-legendary-mythological layers in Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy, the oldest of which dates back to the depths of history. There are two main historical-geographical-literary-cultural layers in Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy: the Lower Layer and the Upper Layer. The Lower Layer consists of the Oldest Periods Layer, the Scythian/Saka-Xiongnu-Kangju-Wusun Layer, the Gokturk-Turgesh Layer, the Oghuz Layer. Kuts and Kuzs/Kases/Kazs, who migrated from Central Asia to the southern region of the Caspian Sea in B.C. 2500 and B.C. 1700 and spread here and dominated Mesopotamia, are among the oldest Turkish communities in history. The names Guz and Oguz come from the same root. It is seen that the name and memories of Guz/Kuz/Kaz continued in various Turkish communities in the Scythians/Saka and Oghuzs throughout the historical process. Kazan in Dede Korkut is the legendary ruler of the Oghuzs, Oguz Han. The name Kazan in Dede Korkut means Kaz Han and it menas “Kazs Khan”. Oguz Han, that is, Guz/Kuz Han with oldest pronunciation, means “Kuzs Khan” with its oldest pronunciation. Kazs and Kuzs are the same group. Kaz Han (Kazan) and Kuz Han (Oguz Han) are two different variants of the same name that have been differentiated in the historical process. Contrasting with other Dede Korkut epics and having common roots with Kazılık Koca Oğlu Yigenek Boyu, Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy is related to the Kazan type in the lower layer dating back to B.C. It is understood that the Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy had a lower layer dating back to the Scythian/Saka-Xiongnu-Kangju-Wusun period. A lower layer of Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy is related to the Gokturk-Turgesh period. A lower layer of Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy is related to the Oghuz period. The existence of a Turkmenistan variant called Salir Gazanin Kamalmaki of the Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy, many place names mentioned in the epic, as well as similarities with other rumors and epics, date back to before the 10th-11th centuries, when Oghuzs were in Central Asia. The top layer of Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy is related to the later periods. In this study, the history of Salur Kazan Tutsak Olup Oglu Uruz Cikardigi Boy in Dede Korkut was examined.
