Özet: Turkish citizens, who have immigrated to Europe since the 1960s due to the need for labor, now continue to exist in these lands with the fourth generation and Turkish population continues to grow in Europe. These generations, who grow up in two languages and cultures, continue their education in European countries, work in these countries and establish their homes there. In this context, concepts such as integration, identity, bilingualism are encountered due to linguistic and cultural diversity. In this study, the adaptation to French society, identity perceptions and language preferences of 19 third-generation young people born and raised in France and aged between 16-35 are discussed. In this context, the research is a qualitative study and interview technique was used as a data collection tool in the research. As a result of the interviews, the third generation young people do not experience adaptation problems because they were born, educated and worked in France. Those who feel that they belong to a bicultural identity and those who say that they belong only to the Turkish culture are equal. Apart from the young people who generally define themselves according to their ethnic identities, the number of those who emphasize both ethnic and national identity is quite high. In terms of language use, young people use French more because of their education and social environment. In the family, both languages are mostly preferred as the language of communication. The vast majority of third-generation youth believe that Turkish and Turkish culture can be transferred to future generations. In this context, they think that the education in family, environmental effect, teaching of culture, customs and traditions are especially important. Turkish and Turkish culture can be transferred to future generations by young people. In this context, it is thought that the education in family, environmental effect, teaching of culture, customs and traditions are especially important.
