Özet: Islamization of Turks is a process that is concerned to the Turkish history as well as world history. From the beginning of 20th century various studies have been made about to explain this process. As a result of these efforts, we can see the emergence of some discourses on which almost everyone is agreed. A part of description  located in Turkish historiography about the process of Islamization of Turks complicates the understanding of process. In this study, some phrases in historiography has been tried to be questioned referring to the various sources of the period. As a result of study, it has been concluded that the expressions which became a taboo has negative impact on the perception of society and in this direction we need to review historiography and expression.
