Özet: Abstract: A closely related study was conducted regarding the activity of aspartate transaminase (AST) previously known as glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase in CSF. It was observed that AST activities was significantly raised in both supratentorial and infratentorial brain tumors. Similar studies between 1960 and 1970 showed almost the same results. Rise in activities were found in benign and malignant tumor. This paper reports CSF-AST activites in 20 cases of CNS tumors of different types.
