Özet: Introduction: Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide. Eleven million new cases of cancer are diagnosed every year. India has the highest incidence of oral squamous cell carcinoma in the world. Serum as a diagnostic tool, has gained lot of attention in last three decades. Methodology: This study was conducted in Department of Biochemistry, Index Medical College and Research Centre, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Results: The result of this study revealed that statistically significant difference between the parameters between the groups. Conclusion: It can be concluded that, the change in biochemical markers such as lipid levels may have a diagnostic or prognostic role in the early diagnosis or prognosis for oral premalignant and malignant lesions.
