Özet: Breast cancer is the leading cancer in women, accounting for 25% of all cancer cases worldwide. It is more common in developed countries. Outcomes for breast cancer vary greatly depending on the cancer sub-type, stage of disease, and person's age. The most common histologic type of breast cancer is infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The mainstay of breast cancer treatment is surgery when the tumor is localized, followed by chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy (when indicated) and for estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR)-positive tumors, adjuvant hormonal therapy. Methodology: An observational study was conducted on 20 female patients of carcinoma breast by the Department of Surgery at Darbhanga Medical College & Hospital, Laheriasri, Bihar. The study duration was January 2020 to December 2020. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee. Informed consent forms were each patient before participation. Result: The present study of showed that 3 out of 20 cases belonged to 40-50 years, majority were in the age range of 51-60 years and another 5 cases were >60 years age group. Lymph node involvement based on age of the patients. Conclusion: This study concludes that there is a higher incidence of lymph node positivity with increasing size of the breast tumours.
